On the day of the potluck, the break room transformed into a buffet wonderland. The spread included a delightful array of treats such as pasta salad, pizza, dips, pasties, cakes, brownies, and a variety of soft drinks. Everyone contributed something unique, making for an impressive feast that had everyone happily going back for seconds (and maybe even thirds!).

With bellies full and spirits high, the afternoon shifted gears to the awards ceremony, a fun tradition that recognises the quirks and contributions of our fantastic team. Throughout the week leading up to the event, employees had been secretly voting for their colleagues in playful categories like "Snack Bandit," "Office Fashionista," and "Office Ray of Sunshine."

The awards added a heart-warming and humorous touch to the day, with laughter filling the room as winners graciously accepted their titles. It was a perfect way to close the year, celebrate our team, and look forward to the holiday season ahead.

Dressed to impress in flapper dresses, sharp suits, and vintage accessories, everyone embraced the Great Gatsby theme with style and flair. The venue itself, Gracie’s, was the perfect backdrop for the evening, exuding an old-world charm that transported us back to the Roaring Twenties.

An open bar kept spirits high, with a delightful array of cocktails and drinks flowing throughout the night. Complementing the beverages was a selection of delectable finger foods, offering the perfect pairing to the lively festivities.

The evening was filled with laughter, music, and moments to cherish, as the team danced and mingled, celebrating another year of achievements and teamwork. It was a night that perfectly encapsulated the vibrant and unified spirit of Yellow Pages Ltd.

Throughout December, the employees of Yellow Pages came together to donate a variety of non-perishable food items, including canned foods, cereals, pastas, jars, and rice. The response was overwhelming, with our team managing to collect an impressive number of boxes filled to the brim with essential food items.

The highlight of this initiative was meeting one of the founders of the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation. They took the time to visit our office and share insights into the foundation’s mission, operations, and the impactful work they do to help those in need. It was a humbling experience that inspired us even more.

We concluded this meaningful day by delivering the collected food to the foundation’s warehouse, conveniently located just down the road from our office. Together, we helped carry the boxes into their facility, where a group of dedicated volunteers were busy packing food bags for distribution.

This initiative not only strengthened our team spirit but also gave us the chance to contribute to a cause that makes a tangible difference in our community. We look forward to participating in similar efforts in the future, continuing to embody the spirit of compassion and support.

The space was buzzing with energy as staff gathered to enjoy hotdogs, wine, beer, and an assortment of sweets and treats fit for the season. Some employees embraced the Halloween spirit by dressing up. From subtle touches like devil horns or a witch’s hat to full-blown costumes, the creativity on display added an extra layer of fun to the gathering. To mark the occasion, our workplace transformed into a sea of pink as employees dressed in pink attire to show their solidarity. Pink ribbons were distributed to everyone, symbolising our commitment to the cause and honouring those affected by breast cancer.

Adding a touch of sweetness to the day, the office was stocked with delicious pink cupcakes and treats that everyone enjoyed. A donation box was also set up, allowing us to contribute to breast cancer research and support services. The generosity of our team was heartwarming, and it was inspiring to see everyone come together to make a difference.

Our Pink October activities were a reminder of the strength in unity and the importance of spreading awareness. At Yellow Pages Ltd, we’re proud to stand together in support of such a vital cause.

We’re always on the move here at Yellow! So last Friday we switched off our PCs earlier than usual and took on an exciting Treasure Hunt around Malta organised by the management. 

After being split into teams, ensuring fully charged mobile phones and seatbelts were fastened, the mission took off exactly at 12:30pm. With every team’s target in mind - the final mystery prize - we drove around Malta for four thrilling hours in the search of random items hidden in different spots, took selfies with popular monuments, recreated scenes from classic movies, answered some cryptic questions, headed for a drink onboard the Gozo ferry and even jumped into the sea for the ultimate challenge, among other quests.

Then, with all our energies burnt out, the next and most important part followed – to keep us even more on our tiptoes - counting the points and announcing the winning team. Everyone anticipated the final result in-between refreshing drinks back at our premises’ lounge area (Yes! An actual Yellow perk) and finally, the winners were announced. Two teams ended up with a tie and made this one hell of a treasure hunt even more entertaining. 

Now, we look forward to the next Yellow adventure, obviously!

Yesterday marked the final day of the Premier League. A high drama finale that saw Leicester kicked out of a Champion’s League spot after losing to Manchester United. Bournemouth and Watford both lost the relegation battle in spite of hard fought matches on the final day of the season. 

The Yellow mini league has been a tight race throughout the whole year.

On the final day of the season - Gameweek 38+, Geraldine Bartolo concluded the gameweek on 67 points, scoring a total of 2224 points. She was confirmed winner of the Yellow mini league after having occupied first place for the best part of the season. Geraldine finished the league in 188th place out of 7,379 players from Malta.

It was a nail-biting finale indeed as runner up Dylan Galea narrowed down a 100 point gap to a mere 22, concluding his season on 2202 points. Anything could have happened as the slightest of changes could have resulted in a completely different scenario. But it wasn’t to be.

Attard FC footballer Kevin Camilleri on 1940 points, will have to join the rest of the mini league players in buying the champion a box of beer.

We at Yellow love nothing more than a big celebration to mark our achievements. That’s why we have organised a rooftop BBQ bash to commemorate our new campaign launch and the hard work we’ve been doing over the past few months. 

The BBQ was organised to toast our collective achievements as a team, and by the looks of it, we really made it a point to heed the saying ‘go big or go home’.

As always, unbelievable amounts of delicious food and drinks were available for us to feast on – because nothing marks a stellar celebration as well as the exquisite food prepared by our resident chefs Nicky and Kevin.

We at Yellow love nothing more than taking action and making a difference, and this month we did so by participating in the Wave of Change campaign. 

The aim of this campaign is to take action on single-use toxic plastics and to raise awareness on the damage that they cause to the environment.

Our team members found and threw away any plastics – both in urban areas and out in nature. In all we have collected over 20 pieces of single-use plastics. We also tagged three other companies to partake in the event, TVM, 89.7 Bay and Times of Malta.

The founder of this challenge, Neil Agius swam from Sicily to Malta to help raise awareness for the environment. He was later joined by Andrew Azzopardi, Hannah Cutajar, Steve Grech and Richard Zerafa also took part in this swim.

People from all departments were briefed this very same week and updated on the new measures implemented in order for us to work in a safe environment. From temperature taking to workspace measurements, controlled seating conditions and mask-wearing. The safety and wellbeing of all the team members were put forward during this time. 

To celebrate this occasion, our own in-house cooking aficionados, Nicky and Kevin, prepared lunch for the whole team at Yellow.

At Yellow, we have been constantly working round the clock to safeguard the health & wellbeing of our staff and customers. COVID-19 has posed significant challenges for us as a company, and as a country.

However, in light of these circumstances, the health of our employees is paramount and we have shifted our workforce to work from home as of this week. As the only company in Malta that has successfully transformed from a print advertising business, to a digital advertising business, working from home is seen as a positive outcome to showcase our strengths as an innovative & forward looking company.

My favourite part was the morning workshop, as it showed me new ways to brainstorm and come up with marketing strategies. The ‘Creating Content That Works' talk was pretty relevant for written content, even though it was primarily meant for video.

The croissants were pretty amazing too.

I preferred the first session, because it was hands-on and we learned very interesting ways on how we can work on new marketing ideas and how to develop them in the most creative way possible.

This conference was a great opportunity to listen to thought leaders, interact with fellow marketers and discover new ways of doing things. I found the Pop Up Agency workshop particularly fascinating. Although the notion of solving a problem and coming up with a brief in 48 hours sounds outrageous at the onset, the concept is ultimately fairly simple - focus on one thing and one thing only. No context switching, no distractions, no meetings, simply focusing 100% of the team’s brain power on a given task, and using tools that enable all members to contribute equally.

I really enjoyed the event. I would say that even though my brain was still asleep in the morning, the brainstorm was the best exercise, I think it’s a useful tool that we can implement here on projects such as Love Malta, our Yellow campaigns, TableIn and so on.

Regarding the second session, I would say that Leonardo (Phillips Creative Director) was my favorite, from the perspective of content creation in three strategic lines: DESIRE, EXPLORE, and CONVERT.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and here at Yellow it really shows. Today we celebrated Christmas the Yellow way — with loads of booze, amazing food and loads of presents. 

The team at Yellow, Discover Local was rounded up in the afternoon to celebrate this long-awaited feast together. We all partook in our yearly Christmas kringle tradition, where everyone swapped gifts and heaps of convivial cheer.

We stopped working early to show off our snazzy Christmas jumpers, exchange presents and stuff our faces with home-made wine, palatable finger food and other delicious goodies.

Needless to say, Christmases at Yellow are absolutely amazing.

This time it was the moment to celebrate Movember, as well as donating money, something we always do, we also made sure to make the day fun for the rest of the team.

In keeping with this month’s theme of moustaches and awareness of men’s health, we decided to put a twist in the age old game pin the tail and instead we played a very funny game of pin the moustache. In it, a team of six people had to help a blindfolded colleague by guiding them towards a picture of a man who was in need of some serious lip decoration, while the opposing teams did their best to distract.

Needless to say, the winners were very happy when they got to collect their prizes.

Even though a winner was chosen, no one came out of this game a loser. It is a fact that we at Yellow love our treats and at the end of the game, and also a little bit during, we munched on delicious tiny cakes on a stick coated with delectable white chocolate that begged you to snatch more.

As always with Yellow, it was another day to remember, and another day full of laughter.

Everyone loves receiving a bagful of treats and surprises every once in a while, and we at Yellow are no exception. Today marked yet another special day at Yellow, Discover Local, as our team gathered to celebrate the feast of St. Martin with gusto. 

Our team followed the yearly tradition that entails delicious foods, jolly spirits and amazing goodies. To mark this year’s celebrations, our Sales Team prepared a range of appetising treat bags for the whole company. Filled with nuts, dried figs, fruit and other tempting treats, these bags were distributed to everyone within the company.

Needless to say, the goodies were consumed within an hour.

Halloween is finally here, and while some of you are busy getting their besoms out of the closet, coaxing pet spiders out of hiding and trick-or-treating your woes away, we at Yellow are busy celebrating the spookiest time of the year in style. 

From costume contests to mummy-making competitions, we had a special day planned for our team to get them into the Halloween spirit. Needless to say the unfortunate mummies had difficulty seeing and moving by the end of the day.

The atmosphere of playfulness and trickery was not reserved for the competitions alone, as some offices had their own trick-or-treating stations set up, complete with cackling hags and delicious candy. Some team members even created a spooky photo booth display for all the zombies and vampires to pose for pictures in.

And of course, what’s a Yellow event without an exquisite cake? We got our very own graveyard and pumpkin themed chocolate cake to feast on at the end of the event.

Today marked a special day for the people at Yellow. The lovely Call Centre team did a truly astonishing job at organising a fundraising event for Pink October. Apart from collecting donations, our fantastic team organised an unbelievably delicious full course meal for us to enjoy. 

The palatable lunch included to-die-for entrées, which consisted of cheese and ham topped bruschettas and a sumptuous cocktail de crevettes. As for mains, we were served farfalle al salmone and penne vodka. Our call centre team also whipped up some pink cupcakes, cranberry cheesecake, pink champagne cake and strawberry cheesecake. Needless to say, the lunch was wolfed down wholeheartedly by everyone present. If we’re not busy working, we’re busy cooking, after all.

Pink was definitely the theme of the day, as the chill-out area was beautifully decorated with a choice of lush ornaments. Informative videos and pamphlets were also shown and handed out to the rest of the team.

All the proceeds from this event will be donated for breast cancer awareness.

It’s been a steady climb up this mountain of change, but boy has it been fun. 

We at Yellow have been working hard to present our teams with the tools needed to embrace this change — and this week it was our Sales Team’s turn to feel the glorious burn of the winds of change.

Our Sales Team was rounded up to show off their newly acquired wizard-level skills by participating in a range of team-building exercises. We have amassed our zippy sales troupe at The Landmark for a fun day full of training events and boisterous escapades.

The training was followed by a multitude of team-building activities including a boat-constructing and sailing competition. Yes, boat building — because there’s nothing quite as bonding and enriching as putting a group of hungry and tired people on a beach and telling them to re-enact that famous Cast Away scene.

Thankfully, we had no Wilsons on board, however one of the groups did manage to effortlessly drown their boat.

The training and team building events were not all about having fun and drowning badly made boats — the aim behind them was that of creating an enthusiastic and engaging discussion for our Team. Through this bonding experience, they became equipped with better tools to take up this transformation into Yellow’s digital era with a healthy dose of cheerfulness and knowledge.

Carmen has been part of the Yellow family for the past 14 years and we wanted to thank her on this special day. During these long years of commitment, she has been and continues to be of great example and inspiration for all of us. With her kind-heartedness and caring approach to each one of us, she is a person who through the good and the bad, she always manages to put a radiant smile on her face.

Upon arrival at the location, we were welcomed by empty canvases and a wide selection of paint. These were going to be our resources for the afternoon in the creation of THE BIG PICTURE! Divided in teams, the Yellow people were given the task to replicate two images on two big canvases. Obviously, everyone was a bit lost cause individually none of the paintings were making sense. Plus, not everyone was born to paint or draw free-hand.
It was a challenge for each one of us but thanks to the Yellow power of teamwork and cooperation, each team worked with one another. As all paintings were progressing and we saw ONE BIG PERFECT PICTURE finished, we felt proud and satisfied that in that one picture there was a bit of effort from all of us, which only made sense once every piece of the puzzle had found its other half.
It’s just like how things work here at Yellow. We might be all individual characters with our own talents and interests, but when it comes to delivering a ‘work of art’, we are always ready to put our heads together and work towards one goal. The digital transformation we’re heading towards requires all of us at Yellow to do just this and we’re proud that no matter what type of obstacle comes our way throughout this process, we will certainly achieve DIGITAL!

In a typical Maltese hot summer morning, they literally sweat (paint) bullets on the battle field at the Ta’ Qali paintball facilities. With the appropriate protective clothing on and a fully loaded gun, the Sales team faced each other in an outdoor paintball adventure for survival. Although the setting was not the usual every day one, Yellow’s Sales team still needed to use strategic thinking to put in action excellent teamwork. For this one time only, it was primarily about hunting down the opponent with paint balls for a satisfying victory.

None of the Sales staff stepped back from hitting the ground and taste a bit of dirt and dust on the field while in action. Additionally, some bruises were also inevitable, but everyone survived safely this team building activity organised by the Company. Once again, Yellow didn’t fail its family members and the following Monday was going to be yet another successful day for the Sales team at Yellow. After all, at the moment it’s all about ensuring a spot on The Last Book (www.thelastbook.com) for all esteemed clients.
Here at Yellow we’re all working hand in hand to reach the finish line for one last time…and obviously in the meantime we are setting new, innovative goals! Stay tuned!

Currently, lots of activities are happening almost on a weekly basis so that we make sure both management and staff are well prepared for the new ways of working in the Company. One successful event was in fact a breakfast held outside the office for the management team of Yellow. 

The Human Resources Team organised a healthy and delicious breakfast to discuss the 3-year business plan ahead. Gathered in one place, the whole management was given the opportunity to get involved in various group activities related to the Company’s digital transformation.

During this event, one could admire the great teamwork between the managers and supervisors of all the departments while sharing ideas and discussing. In this digital transformation, every department in Yellow will undergo challenging, yet exciting changes, so we are constantly making sure that everyone is updated.

This Management’s Breakfast took place in a hyped-up atmosphere where all the managers were brought together to listen to what are the next stages in Yellow’s business plan. Like this, they all got to know the important details relevant at this important stage to share with their respective teams. At Yellow, every employee will be part of the change, so the Company is making sure to keep everyone involved.

For the change towards digital to be successful we are working very hard every day. Make sure to stay on the lookout because there is definitely more to come from Yellow!

Usually, the management does a short presentation on a particular innovation in the pipeline followed by extra details and discussion with the staff. In this way, any doubts and questions can be cleared out. However, this time, Ignition Monday was different from the normal format. It was quite a LOUD one!! 

Similar to what we have experienced few months ago during Communication Day, we had another interesting musical session led by Tribali’s frontman. Using instruments made from recyclable waste the staff started the morning with some positive vibration drumming and shaking to the rhythm. It was an interesting exercise involving teamwork and coordination with a twist.

As a slow starter for this loud Monday session, the management organised a fun quiz for the Yellow staff. Since 2019 will mark the last printed edition of Yellow’s Directory, the quiz was a good to relive the history and main activities of the Company throughout the years.

Laughter, that competition feeling and most importantly, great teamwork, were part of this Ignition Monday recipe!

The sales team was split in three teams and each one was locked up in a themed escape room. With only one hour time to get out, each team had to bring their minds together and figure out how to get free. But achieving this wasn’t that easy! The whole mission involved various challenges such as complex puzzles, resolving mysteries and problem solving mechanisms. Scavenger Escape is an exciting way of doing a treasure hunt combined with a mission to escape in the least possible time preferably.

This Yellow activity wasn’t only about having some fun time together but it gave the sales team the opportunity to put in their enthusiasm and work together towards one goal. The participants in each team needed to collaborate together and listen to each other’s suggestions to complete successfully the task. Undoubtedly, teamwork was crucial here and the sales team managed to put it in practice just as they do daily at the workplace.

Although every team did their utmost to be the first one out of the room, we had one winning team. Obviously, nobody had issues to celebrate! So, altogether they headed to a local bar afterwards for some social drinks. Where there is a refreshing glass of beer and some fresh local appetizers there is truly no escape!

This is how it’s done at Yellow!

It wasn’t the usual Thursday! With the help of the Human Resources Manager, the Call Centre people got the opportunity to get out and move around in the search for hidden clues in the Yellow premises. The treasure hunt involved one riddle after the other with a final surprise to be won! WHAT WAS IT?

The final prize was simply more fun! After the in-house treasure hunt, the Call Centre sales specialists headed out to an afternoon tea party. They go to relax their minds and do some more bonding after hours of laugh and thinking on solving together the treasure hunt. But when they thought it was over, it was not! After a nice warm break, it was time for more team building games to end the day with further connection exercises and a positive team spirit between the employees.

These sorts of surprises we do at Yellow for our employees are part of our mission. We believe that it’s not just about working together successfully but above all it’s about building solid human relationships. When the computers are switched off, the fun is on! And with Christmas around the corner, the fun has yet to increase for the Yellow family!

After kicking off with a light breakfast, Yellow employees had the chance to listen to two influential and motivational speakers on the benefits of CHANGE, and moreover DIGITAL CHANGE! This important Communication Day saw also Yellow’s management doing important presentations on the power, strength and positioning of Yellow.

The agenda of Communication Day featured as well light activities that brought closer together the entire Yellow family. In the first activity, we discovered how well we could connect through single threads of wool, whereas in another session we brought our rhythms together with an energetic drum session. These activities brought us closer, literally!

As is the must in every Yellow event, we dedicated time to have an amazing buffet lunch while enjoying the views of Malta’s natural beauty. Later on, we concluded the day with some drinks while listening to a live session by Yellow’s ambassador, IRA LOSCO!

Overall, the employees’ feedback on this important day was very positive and we reached our objective. The whole team is seeing and engaging to the future of the Company which will be achieved thanks to its talented and dedicated people.

This dark and scary day was immediately switched to a much lighter and fun one. Yellow’s management side-lined their PCs and put on the aprons to prepare lunch for the whole Company.

We broke the tradition, cause Halloween at Yellow wasn’t about trick or treat but strictly about TREATS! The whole management grouped in preparing a mouthwatering dish of juicy ribs with fries, but also veg on the side for that healthy element!

While the management was cooking ribs and sausages to perfection under the direction of our in-house Master Chef Diacono, the rest focused on replacing yellow with black. But, just for this one time! After all, dressing up for Halloween is a must. It was also nice having all Yellow staff, particularly the new recruits, participating and hanging around together.

Now that Halloween is over we know what’s next! Christmas time! This means more group events, fun food and sweets! I guess we have already started the high way to hell!   

Communication Day at Yellow saw our one and only Mr. Yellow bring breakfast to the Company and capture some fun moments of this day with the staff.

As part of Yellow’s communication strategy the whole team of employees was gathered in the morning for some big announcements about what’s next on the long list of innovative things happening at the Company!

The COO gave a detailed presentation on what will happen during Yellow’s first year of its new business plan. The new campaign of Yellow will see many new positive things for its employees and especially the clients who trust the power of Yellow! Big plans for the next fruitful business journey are on the way and the Company has chosen to announce them to all its employees primarily.

It has become an unhealthy tradition to bring sweets when it is your birthday. And we can be very creative too. There are some very good pastry chefs in the team. And usually the selection reflects the taste of the birthday boy or girl. We have fried mqaret up in the kitchen, brought pasticceria siciliana, traditional Maltese cannoli, doughnuts of all type - you name it we have it! Diet always starts on the next day.

14th February is typically the day of huge flower bouquets, chocolates, soft toys and full blown romance. At Yellow, we do admit it… we are struck by this lightning of love every year!Whether or not you already found your better half, here at Yellow we make it a point to celebrate love with a particular way on this romantic day. We love LOVE so it’s our tradition that on Valentine’s Day all our staff feels extra loved and appreciated with simple and small Valentine gifts. This year, for the staff that is in a relationship we gave them some mouthwatering locally baked biscuits with a lovely note to share with their valentine once at home. For the single ones we wrapped some good bottles of sparkling wine to open up when in the good company of perhaps a prospective valentine?!In an event like Valentine’s Day it is always good to share some love between us all colleagues at Yellow. In this big Yellow family we are linked by friendship and kindness so such an event helps us also to celebrate a kind of genuine love and caring between us.

What better way to wine and dine than eating an authentic Maltese dish in good company? As a yearly must the Yellow staff picks a cozy restaurant around the island to meet at for a relaxed night. Typically this night’s equation features some of the most iconic Maltese food alongside home-made wine and music.To start off the Fenkata night it is usually about digging into some of the traditional dips such as bigilla, stuffed olives and cheese. After that, the main meal is obviously a delightful plate of traditional roasted rabbit braised in white wine and garlic with fries and salad on the side. Everytime the Fenkata is organised there is no space for complicated diets and healthy food that it’s difficult to even pronounce! No excuses neither for those who don’t eat rabbit, cause at Yellow we think of everyone. The alternative dishes are usually horsemeat, meat and chicken. Although the mouthwatering local dishes are undoubtedly at the centre during such nights we use this event to stay together outside the office. The fenkata nights give both management and staff the opportunity to bond better with each other in a relaxed ambience. The turnout for this dinner event has always been high and it will surely remain popular among us at Yellow. There is no stopping us from enjoying finger-licking food in good company as our tradition demands.

Easter in Malta is a busy one with various events happening around towns and villages every year throughout the day. Aware of this strong and long relationship that exists between Easter and the Maltese traditions, our Company has started its own Easter tradition too. We launched a first for Easter 2018 and at first glance it looks that it is here to stay with us!In order to feel the sense of Easter even at the place of work, the Yellow management came up with the idea of giving out figolli to each of the staff. This traditional Easter week highlight consists of an almond-based sweet pastry which comes in various shapes and is usually covered with icing or chocolate coating. Apart from distributing a locally-made figolla to each of the staff at Yellow, the management used this occasion to thank the staff for their hard work. Having short and sweet events like this every now and then are frequent at Yellow. It is what keeps us closer together after all!

It wouldn’t be wrong to describe the majority of mothers as the superheroes without capes. Being good listeners, caring and excellent at multitasking are just few of their natural powers. We are proud that the Company employs a high percentage of mums who have been undertaking various roles at different levels. But, no matter what, they fulfil them superbly on a daily basis. Although Mother’s Day may not be a public holiday, here at Yellow we still consider it as an important big event to celebrate. On this special day we have made it a point to pamper all mummies at Yellow. We know how sometimes it can be a bit difficult to balance the office work and life at home. So, we make sure that at least on this one special day all Yellow mothers can have some time for themselves. During the past two years, in the week leading to Mother’s Day, the Company has turned a normal day at the office to a fun one. All mummies get to go either for an early breakfast or a high tea for some pampering to take a mini-break from the office. After all, it's not that bad being a mummy at Yellow!

At Yellow we are also proud that we have a high number of fathers as part of our big family. Like all mothers at Yellow they too deserve some special treatment from the Company during the week leading to their big day! Father’s Day should be a special event for all fathers. At Yellow we make it a point to show them a special appreciation for their time, care and love for their respective families at home! When June hits, therefore, it’s their turn for some special treatment by the Company. It is our tradition that as a way of showing gratitude to all the dads working at Yellow, they are invited for an early breakfast before heading to the office. This tiny event usually consists of hitting a nearby restaurant for a good breakfast and a morning chat between the daddies. Being a dad plus working at Yellow is certainly satisfactory!

As summer kicks in and warmer temperatures hit our island, busy-ness starts hitting Yellow’s offices. But, it’s nothing to be afraid of! While the Yellow staff is going round the offices slightly more hectic than usual to finalise the campaign, we still find time to enjoy the summer season together.And what better way is there to bring the summer vibes at the office than preparing some juicy grilled hot dogs for all the staff? Tasty hot dogs are synonym with the summer period and as is standard at Yellow, we never miss on traditions. As a yearly chill-out event we gather around the BBQ on the office’s rooftop to prepare some divine flavoured hot dogs while sipping on cold drinks to beat the heat. It’s our way of having lunch with a summer twist while perhaps many maltese are on a deckchair near the beach. WE LOVE IT!

The Yellow directory starts taking shape during the month of August with all booked adverts finding their place in the book. Last minute situations to be solved rapidly are also normal during this month, but each Yellow employee makes it a point to survive all this... in honour of the grand finale! Every year, everyone at Yellow eagerly awaits July 31st to end and roll on the calendar sheet for August to begin! Although this is the month of greater pressures in the office, it is also the month of letting loose completely. The Yellow formula of how to loosen up includes an exclusive venue, drinks, food and undoubtedly, dancing. This is why every employee at Yellow loves the end of campaign party! During this evening organised by the Company’s management we get to party together to celebrate yet another successful end of Yellow campaign. Innovative dance moves, big laughs and out of this world energy are the main ingredients that keep us going through this long night. Before heading to summer shutdown, there is no way of escaping this fun night when you’re working at Yellow!

It never gets boring working at Yellow. Every now and then there is an upcoming in-house event for which to look forward to. It feels like coming to work but within an ambience of a social club where everyone gets to meet and share their everyday lives on a daily basis.Caring for each other is natural within the Yellow premises and we express this sentiment best through food. Every now and then each department shows off their culinary talents and prepares a meal for the rest of the Company. We have a well-equipped kitchen in our chill-out area so any recipe imagined has no limits!The department that cooks takes care of setting up the table covers and anything that’s needed to make sure that a full lunch service is given to the other colleagues. This sort of activity serves as a short team building event whereby every person in the department agrees on a recipe to cook and the working method together to provide a high level of food creativity. This recurring event has instilled a bit the sense of competition in each one of us, which is making this activity always more and more interesting!

After a well deserved summer break where we literally don’t move a muscle in our body (except for grabbing a cocktail), we always kick-off a new Yellow campaign with a bang! Our way of recharging our batteries is by giving a shock to both mind and body with a fun and energetic team building activity. This team building activity usually serves us to catch up from where we would have left before shutdown and it also serves us to update each other on our downtime whereabouts away from work. If (and only if) we have enough breath left to utter a word!Lately, the start of a new campaign activity has involved quite some physical movement. With the iChallenge - iPad Treasure Hunt we managed to get to know some of the richest historical places around Malta’s Capital. For this particular activity the staff was split in different teams for a good mix and the hunt towards victory involved answering questions and taking photos or videos. Sweating in some original beach games that either involve water, heavy ropes or even carrying your own colleague on your back to claim victory have also made it on Yellow’s fun agenda. Fun and tough as they may be, team building events are very important for our Company. Such events help us to mix more together and give us a proper mental and physical boost to make it to the finish line of another end of campaign. In our team building activities there are no age concerns… it’s just about teaming up!

Working at Yellow during this month surrounded by a Christmas atmosphere everywhere you turn really gives the premises the right magical feel.In between work, each department finds the time to fill the office with some Christmas spirit thanks to colourful decorations. The activity of secret santa during this Christmas month brings us all back to our childhood ages in the search for the perfect gift in total secrecy. A real hype!December is also characterised by the Company’s Christmas party organised for all the staff before our short Christmas break. This is normally our first dancing night at the start of the campaign which we get to enjoy together in a special venue. In 2017, the Company managed for the first time to organise as well a Christmas party for all Yellow employees’ kids. The turnout was great and kids were entertained with various magic tricks, fun games and presents. We are also very proud for having brought some children from a crèche facility and make them live the warmth of Christmas. As a Company we feel responsible in giving something back to our society and such a decision helped us to strengthen the Yellow family!
